First Night of Brothers at Odds Attracts Large Audience – Two More Chances to See Our Newest Play!

Attracting an audience of over 70, opening night of Brothers at Odds: The Brisbane Story was a success!

The show, which is intended to raise awareness for the fate of the Brisbane Mansion in Batavia, NY, was followed by an active Q&A with director Derek Maxfield and the rest of our Rudely Stamp’d impressionists, as well as City Historian Larry Barnes and Landmark Society President Richard Beatty.

“Brothers at Odds” is the story of the Brisbane Family who lived in Batavia, NY throughout the nineteenth century. The play centers around the pragmatic George Brisbane (Derek Maxfield) and his wife Sarah (Quincy Maxfield), who receive visits from Civil War General Emory Upton (Michael Gosselin) and George’s eccentric and idealistic brother Albert (Dan Snyder), all the while wondering what will happen to their beloved home as time pushes forward. Funded by the Landmark Society of Genesee County and GOART!, the play raises awareness for the preservation of the Brisbane Mansion, the former home of the Batavia Police Department.

Check out our Photo Gallery for pictures from the first night of the show and future performances!

Two more chances to see the show are on June 11th and 15th at 7pm at the Batavia First Presbyterian Church. Both are free and open to the public.
